Clayton Schmidt, a senior at River Ridge High School in Woodstock, GA has earned the 75-point Grand Cup from NFMC. Clay began piano lessons in the third grade and has been the student of Julie Harbin for 10 years. He has participated in the Georgia Federation of Music Clubs Festivals each year, having earned Superior ratings in both the Solo and Concerto categories.
In addition to playing piano, Clay is a member of the Cross-Country team at his school and is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Rho Kappa. Clay also participates in Sprouting Stems where he leads elementary students in STEM specific lessons.
After graduation, Clay plans to attend Georgia Institute of Technology and major in Mechanical Engineering.
