GFMC Scholarship Results

GFMC Scholarships

Georgia Federation of Music Clubs Competitions and Awards Division sponsored the Scholarship Competitions on May 1, 2023.

Our Judge for the Floride Dean Piano Scholarship and the Continuing Education Piano Scholarship competitions was Dr. Vicente Della Tonia Jr., Professor of Piano at Georgia State University.

Dr. Richard Kosowski, Chair of Vocal Studies and Professor of Music at Mercer University, was the Adjudicator of the Bailey-Cobb Vocal Solo Scholarship contestants.

Dr. Eva Hsu, an independent string teacher in Atlanta, Adjudicated the Bailey-Cobb Instrumental Solo Scholarship category.

Floride Dean Scholarship:  3 Entrants

Piano Scholarship (19-26 yr) $2000.00 each

Scholarship: $2,000.00

Winner: Jayden Jixuan Chong (Teacher: Dr. Alan Woo)

 

Continuing Education 9th & 10th Grade Piano Scholarship: 9 Entrants

Scholarship: $600.00

Winner: Hailey Culp (Teacher: Ping Xu)

 

Continuing Education 11th & 12th Grade Piano Scholarship: 4 Entrants

Scholarship: $600.00

Winner: Eric Xu (Teacher: Lois Finlay)

 

Bailey-Cobb Vocal Solo Scholarship: 12 Entrants

Scholarship: $350.00

Winner: Nikhila Immaculate Vincent (Teacher: Margaret Liu)

 

Bailey-Cobb Instrumental Solo Scholarship: 4 Entrants

Scholarship: $350.00

Winner: Joey Zou – Violin (Teacher: Karen Lin)
