NOTE TO FESTIVAL CHAIRMEN

Welcome to the Georgia Federation of Music Clubs! We hope you have an exciting and profitable year of festivals. Here is some helpful and important information.

Specially Capable Student
If you have a student who qualifies for the Specially Capable category, you may complete this form located under Festival Forms.

Transfer Student
If you have a student who has previously participated in festival and has transferred to your studio to participate this upcoming year, you need to complete the transfer form located under Festival forms.

Liability Insurance
Information about liability insurance can be found via the National Federation of Music Club’s website.  If you are interested in this insurance, the premium deadline is November 15th to the Treasurer.

Senior Club Membership
Senior Club Membership is due September 1st.
What is the Senior Club? The Senior Club is yourself or a group of teachers in your area/city who collectively apply for membership to the Georgia and National Federation of Music Clubs. Your group should create a club name that will be used as your Senior Club Name. You should also include adult students on this registration form. Membership is paid based on the number of teachers/adult students that you include. The Form for Senior Club Membership is under the Membership Tab.

Junior Club Membership
Junior Club Membership is due October 15th to Treasurer.

What is the Junior Club? The Junior Club should include all your non-adult students in your studio regardless of whether they participate in Festival. You are to create a name for your Junior Club. Membership is paid based on the number of students that are included.

You will also need to copy your Junior Club Roster that you use with the Junior Club Membership and send it to your local Festival Area Chair and to the State Festival Chair. List the names of every student you enrolled.

The form for Junior Membership is under the Membership Tab.

Certificate Order
Submit your order for certificates to the State Certificate Chair by OCTOBER 15TH.. This order should include your expected need for:

Participation certificates (the half page sized certificates) – Each student who participates will receive this certificate regardless of rating.

Superior certificates (full page certificates – white in color). For students who have received Superior for the first time. Also, for students who received a Superior this year but skipped last year or did not score Superior last year (they may have received a Superior two or more years ago).

Consecutive Superior Certificates (full page certificates, off white in color, for students who received a superior last year and this year) Note: any student who receives this consecutive superior certificate must have multiple consecutive years of superiors. If they did not participate or receive a Superior rating one year, anything before that year no longer counts for this certificate.

Three- Six- Nine- and 12-year Consecutive Superior Certificates (full page, each a different color, for students who have received the corresponding consecutive superiors) Stipulations of missed Festival participation and non-Superior years still apply to eligibility to receive these “milestones” certificates.

What to Submit After Festival
Submit the JR 3-3 (located under Festival Forms) to the State Festival Chair and the Treasurer.  (See Protected Area under Membership Tab for contact information). The JR 3-3 instructions are printed on the form. PLEASE follow them exactly. List the events in the same order as they are printed in the bulletin. Completely fill out the summary report, including the consecutive superiors by year.

Also, submit the JR 3-4 to State Festival Chair. Again, please follow directions. Classify entrants by event and then alphabetize within the event. PLEASE submit this form electronically via excel so that it can easily be copied into a file for permanent records. Handwritten forms and printed forms will NOT be accepted.

ALL OF THESE FORMS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN MAY 20th!

Thank you for all you do to share your love of music!
